2BR Coastal Escape Near Surfers Paradise Beach

Average Positive: The location was great, close to shops and beach- walking distance. The view was beautiful Negative: The check in process was horrendous. Poor communication, I ended up having to go to three convenience stores to collect the key and in between that I got sent into the hotel to find a laundry room that didn't exist where supposedly another lockbox was located. I had to call them over 30 times to try and get it all sorted, even after the lady said "I'll get back to you". Overall it took us over an hour to check-in and finally get to our room. The room was cleaned average and the main bathroom had a clogged sink and a questionable brown marked smeared on the back of the door. It didn't bother me and my friend but it was not at all sound proof- so heads up for anyone who can't sleep with loud music.

Positive: Rooms, linen, bedding clean. Beautiful view. Everything that was needed for my stay was there at my disposal. Easy instructions from arrival to departure. Really recommend staying here. Negative: Nothing at all.

Great apartment in a fantastic location. We really enjoyed our stay. The beds could be a bit firmer but that’s a matter of personal preference. Also, we had to chase up the check in instructions which we hadn’t received by 3pm of the day of check in. The hosting agency were very responsive when our security pass suddenly stopped working! Much appreciated. We would stay again.

Great view etc - but so many things need attention. Positive: We liked the location, the view and how spacious it was in the apartment. Negative: We didn't like the verification process. This was not explained anywhere in the property description or details at time of booking. You basically have to pay either an additional $18 or $50 to verify yourself. I'd made the offer to send details via email to avoid this cost which was declined. There was only shampoo, no body soap, soap bars in either bathrooms. There was only a little smidgen of hand soap available. The drain in the main shower had a bad odour. The recliners are damaged (you sat on an angle as a result). The pillows on the bed and spare pillows are stained. There was only one blanket available. We had to buy additional blankets to keep warm. And we'd actually booked this place with 2 bedrooms in case a friend needed to stay over during their visit. It's lucky they didn't as there were no blankets in the spare room anyway. The bed wasn't very comfy. Checking in time is later than every other place I've stayed in (being 3pm at the earliest time). Due to being in a large residential/hotel building, the elevators seem to always take forever. Even the cleaners mentioned how frustrating the wait time for the elevators are. One of the guests said they'd been waiting 15mins for an elevator. A couple of times, we gave up waiting and walked down 17 levels to get to ground floor. Because of this, we decided to leave the apartment early for fear of peak hour (if everyone else had to check out at 10am also). There was WiFi, however it said "no internet". The air con only had cooling or fan functions available. No heating option. In the "welcoming folder", the threat of $1,000 if you lose your room key or for a late call out was a bit excessive and not so welcoming.

We had a great 2 night stay, our 3rd stay in the Hilton building and this unit was our favourite Positive: Great location, easy check in and parking. Great communication.
